Martin Wickramasingha is an author & writer. We can also introduce him as a novelist. He was born in 1829 at Koggala. He is a Sri Lankan as well as a Buddhist. He was studied at Buono Vista College Galle and Sinhala language school Ahangama. 

He has created many excellent creations. He was great Sri Lankan writer in 20th century. He published 14 novels which were made in to films are Gamperaliya , Viragaya , Madolduwa , Kaliyugaya , and Yuganthya. Many of his books have been translated into English, Tamil, Russian, Chines & many other European languages. He won many local and foreign prizes awards. He died in 1976. He has remained one of the most known and widely recognized Sri Lankan authors. There is no question that the legacy that this writer has left for his country and his culture will be remembered for much more time from now to come. That is why he is called one of greatest writer in Sri Lanka.
