Vesak is a national festival in Sri Lanka. It is the most important festival to the Buddhists . It marks three important events of the Buddha's life. There are the birth of prince Siddhartha, enlightenment of the Bodhisatta and the passing away of the Buddha. Many Buddhists observe sil  on this day.                                                          New Year Festival....  The Sinhala Hindu New Year is one of the main festivals celebrated by the people of Sri Lanka. The new year festival generally falls on the 13th or 14th of April. It is a national festival. The Sinhalese and the Hindus celebrate the new year in a grand scale. The people get ready for the new year in advance. They wash their houses. Some people even  colour- wash their houses. They buy or sew new clothes for the new year. These books provide different information on different subjects. It is true that libraries are necessary  for educational, social and national progress. They are storehouses of knowledge where we can find all kinds of information and ideas. A library provides all sorts of books on different subject by various writes. An accident I saw..

                                                              An accident I saw....😳😫😧 Last Friday I was waiting for a bus at the bus stop 🚌🚌. At that time I saw an old man walking along the pavementπŸ‘΄. He was carrying a bag. At once he stopped right opposite the bus stop. He looked both ways carefully. As there were no vehicles coming, he started to cross the road. He was coming towards the bus stop. I saw a small car coming at a distance. I thought he would be able to cross the road safely. But in the middle of the road, his bag fell from his hand . Then he stopped to pick the bag up. He didn't see that car coming. The driver of the car did not expect the man to stop the car. It hit the old man. He was thrown away. I went to the place. He was in a pool of blood.                 ...

                                       Grand Father's Birthday Party..... 😍😍 Grand father's 88th birthday held on last Saturday. It was held on 6th of November 2021.😍The whole family members got together and prepared a surprise birthday party for him. All of family members are want to the  grand father' s home . Grand father wasn't at home that day. So it was easily for us to prepared the birthday party. Then grand sons and grand daughters got together and did the birthday decorations. The adults are preparing the dinner. Grand father didn't know anything was big help to us. We decorated the party with simple balloons decorations and brought a beautiful birthday cake 🍰🍰. The problem of garbage has become one of the burning problem in Sri Lanka in present. Actually it has become from bad to worse. This problem is very serious specially in Colombo city πŸ˜•. In fact, the residents of Colombo city and suburbs are facing a serious environmental crisis and they face a huge health risk as tons of waste and garbage continue to accumulate to mountainous sizes. Solid waste pollutes the environment. When the garbage is piled up, it will start to rot. In the process, it produces a bad stench can be unbearable.                                                           My Favourite Writer..... 😍😍 Martin Wickramasingha is an author & writer. We can also introduce him as a novelist. He was born in 1829 at Koggala. He is a Sri Lankan as well as a Buddhist. He was studied at Buono Vista College Galle and Sinhala language school Ahangama.   He has created many excellent creations. He was great Sri Lankan writer in 20th century. He published 14 novels which were made in to films are Gamperaliya , Viragaya , Madolduwa , Kaliyugaya , and Yuganthya. Many of his books have been translated into English, Tamil, Russian, Chines & many other European languages. He won many local and foreign prizes awards. He died in 1976.
